It's not quite a perfect lineup for the ungrateful traitors' day, but it is the date the Canadians celebrate their national holiday for being declared a country. Dare you to try and make Canada Day resolutions a thing. :)

I suppose you could claim it's referring to the Philippines attaining their own colonial independence too. I'll leave it as an exercise to the reader to guess which event better fits the description. :)

Oh Jon, don't pretend you don't know you needed at least that flick in the forehead, and deserve more than that. Now that he's identified this is a problem, what's the wrongest conclusion he can draw about it to act on inappropriately? I'll start the bidding at: People think he looks like a pushover, so he has to be more assertive to seem less like an easy target.

I'm not sure I agree with you about Paul's praise being excessive in this case. If Ty were anyone else, he'd deserve credit for holding back, but he is Ty. So, instead, he deserves credit for rising to the challenge and doing that much at least, instead of completely dodging his responsibility for negative operant conditioning towards a friend looking for trouble.

Yeah he kinda did need it, but he accepted he needed to be told off, so... tiny snail baby steps I guess?

And yeah, it wasn't the biggest gesture, but it was big for Ty! Paul is nicer than I am for acknowledging that
