I know it’s kind of a meme now, but some British families/households really do make tea when things start getting tense, I promise you it’s a thing.

If you're drinking tea, you can't argue, right? Right? Also I hope this can be resolved nicely :')

It's certainly much harder, and if you want an excuse to not talk, just go in for another sip! Flawless!

The part I find most amusing is imagining that maintaining this grudge uses up most of Seth's effort, attention and motivation, and that he's secretly the smarter and better coordinated Walker brother.

There are pros and cons. Far too few people tend to notice that drinking tea while angry has a direct correlation to scalding accidents of both the accidental and purposeful varieties.

The moment Seth lets go of his spite and anger, he retakes all his exams and gets an engineering degree, graduating early, now he has access to all that excess mental energy

This HAS TO BE where the Santa sleigh mysteriously crashes into the house with only a single elf piloting it, begging for help!

Also, also, I wanna be mean to you for a sec.
You totally BLEW IT with the vanishing point on the counter and window in the last panel.
Although, I do respect you for not using the ol' crtl+c and ctrl+v.

Now back to me desperately hoping Santa gets saved.

When Seth was 4-5 years old he couldn't spell (or pronounce) "Jonathan", so that was his best attempt

Just as I guessed. Though I secretly hoped for some early noodle incident involving baby Jon...

Interesting but also heartbreaking detail: That family drawing on the fridge!

I should've commented on this earlier: Jon is shamelessly claiming Tilly's effort as his own in the first panel. She deserves to be paid a commission and a credit-borrowing fee if she's not going to get credit for her work. Maybe the odds of this coming back to haunt Jon in the future aren't so high, but if the relationship lasts long enough....

No joke, Jon almost told her about Tilly in this scene, but he didn't want to make this Christmas "all about him" so he decided not to

But yeah, he's out here paying his girlfriend in ~exposure~

Darn right he is. What's the point of making your boyfriend look different if your effort to claim territory isn't acknowledged, and it just makes him look nicer to all the other people who might flirt with him or worse?
