Coupling. That's what this comic reminds me of sometimes.

It only took half a year to figure it out

Ah I should really watch that. It's kind of absurd that I haven't yet, given who I am lol

Gemma truly has to put up with a lot to be Seth's girlfriend. I keep expecting her to decide it's not worth it and break up with him, but it hasn't happened yet. Maybe she has more trouble than I thought she would finding guys into her femdom kink who aren't ugly, old men?

I'm surprised she hasn't changed her hair colours more times since her cast pic was added. I could be misreading her character, but a lot of people who would colour their hair in obviously unnatural colours like that tend to like to keep re-doing it differently every so often. Perhaps either she really liked the blonde highlight look, or less real-world time has passed than I think.

I'm not sure that colour suits her with those eyebrows though.

She's kind of new to long-term relationships - I'm looking forward to hopefully showing some moments where Seth is the one doing more work, since there are some areas where she would be a huge pain lol

As for the hair, the reason is more "Doylist" than "Watsonian" - as Gemma wasn't a central character until quite recently, I wanted to keep her appearance more consistent until she was established in people's minds, and now I feel I can have her change hair colour without worrying about people not recognising who she is. Her hair colour will be changing much more often from now on!

I wouldn't be surprised if helping her dry up after getting thoroughly doused like this may be one of those things. Trying to do that without starting another fight while asking for Jon's help (perhaps for carrying her back to her apartment) while they're not on speaking terms could have some embarrassingly pissy, passive-aggressiveness involved.

And that's perfectly fair. If I were asked *now* for an idea how else you might have tried to solve it in the past I could suggest trying out having Seth make a fawning, appreciative complement on each new hair colour of hers as he became aware of them. Perhaps a montage strip which ends with her complaining in the last one that the colour was wrong or the dye job was botched could make a passable joke of it. That risks painting Seth's interest level as being dangerously into the stalker grades of obsession. Having him complement her on the new hair colour when she had not dyed it again yet might make an even better joke without that characterization issue. ("I knew it, I knew you never really looked higher than my chest. I'll give you that you have good taste in knockers Seth, but that only gets you so far.")

Good point about the sobering up thing! Though I imagine his abilities are limited at making coffee and trying to word "let's go to bed" so she won't interpret it sexually.

As for the hair thing... dang, that would have been pretty funny. Shame I didn't think of it - I did use that trick once for the first small change to her hair, but yeah, seems I missed a trick there. Ah well, this webcomic is a learning experience!

I'm amused by the possibilities of how terrible Seth asking for help could be:
"Help Jonny, I'm stupid and I need you to brain things for me."
"You mean thinking? If you mean thinking you should've thought of that before you decided to be a royal twat about me and Tilly, and then to keep doing it without stopping or apologizing, you blue-blood bleeding twat!"
"She... no, getting you to brain this right now is more important than that."

I can't expect you to telepathically use my imagination every time you could do with an extra idea or two. Even if you have those kinds of telepathic powers, you probably shouldn't because it's dangerous in there.

Seth would be more the square pipe-smoking 1950's daddy anyway.

I don't know if you had "Married With Children" in the UK, but one of the funniest lines is where Kelly (portrayed so well by Christina Applegate) is asked if Al is her Daddy. She says "oh no, that's not my Daddy, that's my father."
