Hmm, well I have a few highly thought out guesses as to why you are excited about this story line.
1. It's a beach episode!
2. Building up to the volcanic reveal and the aftermath of Seth finding out Jon is dating his boss.
3. It's a beach episode!
4.Road trips usually end in disasters and allows us to see the cast under an great deal of stress, thus creating drama and character development.
5. It's a beach episode!

Hmm, I am sure there is one other thing... Oh! It's a...n opportunity to have someone getting sun burn and deal with the consequences at the end gag.

All pretty good guesses! Love me some drama and some beach shenanigans

one more thing about the sunburn possibility, if they stay out long enough, they can A: have horribly painful burns which allow for certain plots to happen without feeling too contrived, and B: they can also end up dehydrated enough to Hallucinate... which *also* allows for cheesecake/horribly sitcomy situations while not being out of character.

A beach episode in England? I foresee Jon standing around in swim-shorts with a mildly annoyed expression, and getting rained on. Seriously, don't do things outside in England without expecting to get rained on.

Also, have they actually done more than just the one date, and if so how come Seth hasn't found out who it is yet? He lives with one of them and works with the other, so even if they were both good at hiding a relationship there would have to be hints.

"We're going to the beach!"
"Did you pack your umbrella?"
"Obviously."

And, due to the strange nature of the passage of time in comics, I left it intentionally vague as to whether they have been on any further dates, but at this point Seth knows Jon is seeing someone, and probably guesses Tilly has a boyfriend, but he hasn't put the two puzzle pieces together yet.

Ah, yes, Jon needs more potentially disastrous and/or humiliating relationship secrets that can be revealed accidentally or innocently. What I don't know is why he needs these things, my best guess is that it's some dark penalty associated with the curse of the Walker charm.

I'd say it's an even split between the Walker curse and the being-a-character-written-by-me curse 😈

When your date makes the Bond villain pose on the way to the beach. ITs time to be concerned

I look forward to seeing that exact panel repeated in the near future, but in context and without the doom filter
