Now we just need a control group that gets told the horoscopes which are actually in the paper, and we have a neat study about the placebo effect regarding horoscopes! :-D

Hahaha, even if Jon doesn't learn anything, at least his brother and friends are learning things? Maybe? Is this a lost-win situation?

If I were Seth I'd have given Jon increasingly ridiculously silly advice like, "Today is a bad day to lick electrical sockets. Sure, you may think it tastes like lemons and fizz, but that's actually your tongue dying." If he is incapable of slowing down and actually thinking about the value of what he has heard long enough to notice it's obvious, he needs the tongue injury to help him learn that very little in life is so simple that we can uncritically reject it or accept it without further analysis and verification.

Also, no Seth, they are exactly as stupid as Jon thinks they are. The trick is that what gets printed in newspapers as horoscopes tends to be fairly broad and harmless self-help advice, and that is why it's as popular as it is.

I probably would have too! Maybe then Jon would have actually thought about it and gone "hang on..."

Considering that Jon's biggest problem is not thinking through his opinions, decisions, words and actions... I'd call that a win from Seth's position.

Oh yeah, that's true! Haha, if only Seth realised!

The real lesson here is that Seth should be a horoscope writer.

Seth, don't try to out-dumb your brother, he has it down cold. Come to think of it, so do you, but at least you meant well this time, right? :D

Trying to out-dumb someone is kinda a lose-lose situation anyway... XD
