If I guessed what's on Ty's shirt correctly, Paul seems to be following its command fairly well, figuratively speaking.

I am imagining that Paul presses the question further, and finds out about Jon's crush. Then he asks details, because he thinks he may be able to set Jon up on a date.

"Well, I know I am a happy man, but if what is it about Anna that you like, Jon?"
"If I'm honest, it's that she's a girl, she lives close, she talks to me, I can talk to her without freezing up or getting slapped, yelled at, or a nasty rumour started about me, and I know there is no way she'll ever go for my older brother instead. Oh bloody bollocks, I am as shallow as a mud puddle."
"Don't worry, that can be a positive with some ladies, especially ones in the drama department. We should talk about it later, but I'm pretty sure I can set you up."

From there Jon either starts being too picky in advance for Paul to help him, or, he fails to be picky *enough* and he starts getting DRAMA student drama in his life.

At first I thought you meant Paul would set Jon up on a date with Anna and I died

That's really sweet, and pretty in character for Paul actually! Well, Jon will have some more DRAMA in his life soon enough... >;D

Paul being nice enough to lend someone the shirt off his back, maybe. I doubt he would consider trying to lend the girlfriend out of his bedroom too deeply, on account of liking her tendency to self-determination if nothing else. On the other hand, it hasn't been established in the story yet what Paul and Anna have in the way of odd fetishes.

All considered, I would recommend spontaneous hair combustion as a future plot ahead of that, unless you think the story needs to be much more awkward.

Immediately upon posting that I remembered: Jon isn't nearly enough of a clown to have a ghost of a chance with Anna. I doubt he'd even be capable of doing the makeup himself, let alone any intentional clown performance.

I think if Jon knew Anna's reason for not wanting to be with him was that he's not clown enough, he probably wouldn't be that crushed...

So of course he'll never know that >:)

Or, at least not until Jon sees Paul clowning. Then, Anna swoops in and starts making out with him, and Jon's mind breaks for a little while as he struggles to process the idea of anybody finding clowns sexy.

Then he goes back home in a daze, and communicates his shock and disbelief to his older brother, seeking sanity. Seth responds, "I'm sure I told you about that. Like, a long time ago now. Don't you remember?"

I am just happy that my world view has been placed back to normal. I mean, Paul punching Jon. Unless by punching you mean handing him a glass of punch, then yeah, that sentence makes sense.

Had me going non the less.

Back to reality! And yeah, that's the only type of punch Paul is likely to give anyone!

Don't be ridiculous. Chapter 15 was Not Above the Influence. We're in chapter 23 now. Seriously, man, keep up with the reading or you'll fail the class.

It just clicked for me who Paul reminds me of when he delivers these calm lines of peace
