She does know his name, she just forgot it, which I think is actually worse. (rip my self-esteem, linking my old art and writing—Gemma called Anna by her first name, ick)

Nah, don't let the old art get you down. Look at your evolution, instead. :)

To be fair, Gemma was probably drunk when she learned Seth's name, and he really can't be bothered to learn almost anyone's name, so there's that...

Of course, the slightly awkward, but polite thing to do would be to ask his name now.

Yeah, I don't see that happening...

She'll just call him "you" or "oi" for the rest of their lives, problem solved!

Oh come on! How can anyone forget... Sean...Smith...Stan... Barnaby! Yup, good old Barnaby.

You'd think she'd be able to remember an easy name like Bernard--I mean Barnaby!

Seth's stubborn refusal to see this relationship as a bad idea is... inspiring. I'll let other people comment on what exactly it inspires.

What if it goes all the way to marriage and children? I can see it now:
"Do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"Yeah, I'll marry the bloke. Even though he's a thicko he's surprisingly good in bed, and he lets me cheat."

He inspires... optimism?

"Do you take Seth Walker to be your--"
"Aha! I knew it began with an S!"

Gemma continues to look fine so your self-esteem should be focused on your newer strips, not your older ones. Look forward, never back!

This whole storyline has been comedy gold and you should be proud of it.

P.S. If your art had started out this good, we should never have had 0015: Give Them the Finger which is a favourite of mine.

Aw, thanks! I must say, I am pleased with how far this thing has come art-wise, and writing-wise, it's just a little jarring to go back sometimes :S

I'm horrid with names but I've usually got them down by this point.

I'm pretty bad with names too, but I try not to be as... open about it as Gemma here XD

Trying to imagine the worst case scenario for this name situation:

Many years later...
Priest: "And you, Gemma Ito, do you want to take Seth Walker as your husband?"
Gemma: "Ah, so that's his name?!"

Seth: You can remember where we first did it, but not my frickin' name?!

Even later:
Seth: "I think we should name our first-born son after his father."
Gemma: "That means his name would be...?"
Seth: "Oh, seriously!?"

Many years later...
Priest: "And you, Gemma Ito, do you take Seth Walker as your husband?"
Gemma: "Who? No. I'm marrying this doofus standing next to me, you daft git!"

They're a good couple for comedic reasons if nothing else. :D

When I was playing Final Fantasy X I had this joke where at Yuna and Tidus' wedding the priest is like "do you, Yuna, take Tidus to be your--"
and Yuna's like "WAIT THAT'S YOUR NAME? I thought you were just called Newest Guardian!!"

And finally, many many many years later, we will see Gemma as grieving widow in front of a gravestone that says:

HERE LIES

JONES' WEIRD HOT FRIEND

LOVING HUSBAND AND FATHER
