Jeez, I was already doing that, what do you want from me?

I wrote in the script, to get the facial expressions right, “horny but conflicted” and honestly I think that sums up this whole comic.

... Not gonna lie, I read this and my immediate following thought was “They’re perfect for each other.”

Ugh, Gemma's mad, bad, and annoying to know, and Seth is a glutton for punishment that's some combination of lacking confidence, assertiveness, and especially observational prowess. I could think of romantic matches that would be more cringe-worthy but I generally wouldn't without it being a comedic attempt to cross the line twice.

About your comment, were you talking about comic number 451 or generally the whole thing? Because if you think Waste of Time in general is "horny but conflicted" that may put a whole new spin on the brothers body-swapping arc I never saw in it before.

P.S. Fans of Ray Bradbury might have something to say about giving the title "Warming Up" to comic #451 in a series. Is this accidental or is it a bit of a stealth reference?

I meant the whole series, though really as just a joke, since few characters fancy someone who doesn't come with a bunch of complications.

And I honestly didn't notice the 451 thing until you mentioned it! That is one heck of a coincidence! What are the chances??!

This whole comic was executed perfectly. Also Gemma looks mighty fine.

I went back and checked, and their last interaction was in comic 426. The last thing he said to her: "Yoooou're prettyyyy." And looking at it again, she didn't seem to be enraged at him. Possibly she was warming to him even then, just a little.

Thanks! I'm glad this page turned out well, I was quite pleased with it!

I guess Seth wasn't totally delusional when he thought she was into him!

I will laugh if those two end up being a pair, partly because I'm obviously an evil bastard for wanting to see Anna give Seth hell for it, but mostly because I think you deftly illustrated their mutual attraction. You never know, she may loosen up a bit if she's in a stable relationship with a genuinely decent guy like Seth. She'll likely have to smack him upside the head from time to time for being stupid, but generally speaking, I think he'd be a positive influence. :)

"The week we moved in together she slept with my then-boyfriend and acted like she was *proud* of it."

Seth's tolerance for abuse can be a bad thing too: Rewarding bad behaviour tends to encourage the arseholes doing it to do it even more. We don't know that Anna was telling the full and complete truth there, but what little we've seen of Gemma already suggests she's brazen, spiteful, impatient, and may have impulse control issues. How many more faults does she need?

Maybe Gemma hasn't respected any of the young men she has dated, but she is starting to see Seth as a person now? Maybe, just maybe, she can have an actual relationship with him?

If she just does her wham-bam-okay-get-out routine with him, her involvement in the comic will be simple and straightforward and over soon. I'm thinking, and hoping, that we'll see more of her than that.

I can't add much to this without spoilers, but can I just say I love comment threads like these? People debating character motivations and possible future developments in my comic is *chef's kiss* good stuff

Oh yeah, there's definitely a point where niceness becomes foolish, and he may have even crossed that line already. And let's just say you are perhaps right for suspecting Anna of not having the full story...

Thanks! I'm glad I managed to get that across! Yeah, maybe he'd soften her a bit--I was going to say who knows, but I know, so...

Yeah this stretch went on for a while where every page I was either like "damn!!" or laughed out loud at the pacing/dialogue
