Some technology just isn't compatible with other tech even if you feel it should be.

Lies, Jon was only pretending to be happy to avoid feeling disappointed and angry about his poor purchase. This points us back at the question of when the last time he was actually happy was though. Anybody got a defensible answer?

Yeah he just doesn't want to admit his retail therapy was ill-advised.

I don't like how hard it is for me to answer your question... I think it was in Vegas? After the Stratosphere? -checks upload date of that page- Damn Jon.

Sorry for getting you to chase down details like that, but my point was more that this is a difficult question to answer offhand more than what the specific answer is.

Oh yeah, I got that, I just thought it was pretty telling that the page in question was over a year ago. Guy needs to cheer up (I say, being the one who's making him unhappy)

I think you're in the clear since him defaulting to self-sabotage is well established as his dominant tendency. If he is going to cheer up more often than once in a blue moon what it really takes is some character development. Trying to write that kind of thing strikes me as a high tier difficulty writing challenge; I wouldn't know where to start.

Cue Jon running off to by a bunch of different adapters!

Oh Jon, it seems retail therapy doesn't include Googling to check it will fit.

I've been having issues with old tech lately, after getting out my old PS2 - 'Oh my character is walking off in a random direction because the left analog stick jammed again' or 'Is the wierd buzzing sound I'm hearing a stylistic choice of the game, or the AV cable acting up again?'

To be fair, a lot of old stuff (most?) does not have full, accurate specs and manuals available online. Even where those are available, sometimes the documentation lies about things. Last and definitely not least, if something is old--especially if it's second hand--maybe it *used to* fit but doesn't anymore. What Jon really should have done is brought his camera to the store and tested it before buying.

His camera is old enough that it could have expanded and contracted in different weather so much that the lens it was sold with probably doesn't fit right anymore XD

Jon would call those bugs "charms"
