This one was going to end on a heart-warming note, but it’s me, so of course that didn’t pan out.

After I accidentally made their living room look gigantic on the last page, I’m trying to really sell how small this flat really is, because that’s the only way they can afford to live there. That did make it VERY hard for me to position everyone in the frame though, no lie. If only my characters were successful, then staging would be so much easier.

You are making fiction here though. You can add small elements of fantasy--like an apartment that isn't pathetically small--without going whole hog and having utterly unrealistic things like fire breathing dragons tackling AirBus jets out of the sky.

That is true, it's just a small detail I wanted to get at least partially right to make things seem a bit more realistic. I do tend to bend accuracy a bit to make panels work better, like making characters taller or shorter, so I guess I can get away with making the flat a little bigger when I need to. Who's keeping score?

That depends on who's asking. For some people it's the imaginary nun/schoolteacher demon that was created in their head by years of abuse schooling that hits them with a ruler whenever they get things wrong. So you tell me, who is keeping score?

Yeah! Glad it left its mark, I'm quite fond of that particular design :)
